Hampton Roads Metro Band is an all volunteer, non-profit symphonic concert band that is comprised of 55 – 60 musicians, both amateur and professional, from diverse walks of life. The age of the band’s musicians range from 15 to 86! The band’s mission is to provide enjoyable rehearsals and performances of concert band literature, and to share a varied musical repertoire with the public at large. The musical repertoire includes marches, patriotic selections, Broadway musicals, big band, and easy listening music. The concert performance locations include assisted living facilities, retirement homes, fraternal and charitable organizations, churches, synagogues, civic events, festivals, and graduation ceremonies.

A video recording was made of the Hampton Roads Metro Band Christmas Concert of 2001 to send to the US Navy Battle Groups serving overseas during the holiday season. The band performed aboard the Battleship Wisconsin (BB-64) during the Ship’s 58th anniversary in April 2002 and has performed for this event each year since. The band also performs each year during Veterans Day festivities aboard the Battleship Wisconsin (BB-64). In December 2002 the band performed at Nauticus during the National Maritime Christmas Festival and again in June 2003 for the City Managers Conference.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
